Objective JH-1: Group shared folders

Motivation

We currently have individual home folders for users on the hubs, and the possibility of one shared folder shared by all users on the hub, that admins can write to.

We need a way for groups / teams on a hub to have their own shared folders, shared between members of the group / team only.

Description

This objective is rolled over from last PI. We have completed changes to upstream Jupyterhub to allow for this configuration to be made in our infrastructure repository. This PI we need to complete the work which involves configuration changes to enable the group shared folders, test, and roll this out to production hubs.

@sunu could you please add some more details and specifics to this ticket on the work involved.

• Configuration and documentation is done.
• Group shared folders are deployed to hubs.

I've started a PR to test deploying group shared folders to MAAP staging hub: 2i2c-org/infrastructure#6010

Working on a PR to add support for dict values in the upstream z2jh chart: jupyterhub/zero-to-jupyterhub-k8s#3690

Here's the current state of things:

• We've deployed MAAP: test group shared directories on staging 2i2c-org/infrastructure#6010 to MAAP staging. So technically that hub has group shared folders enabled.
• Yuvi had a bunch of feedback on that PR. So I've opened Try defining volumes and volume mounts as dict 2i2c-org/infrastructure#6102 to try a new approach. This needs a fresh round of review from @yuvipanda.
  This new approach is still not the right way to go long term - just a workaround till we implement some of the needed upstream changes in z2jh.
• I've opened a z2jh PR for some of the required changes - Support dict values for volumes, volume_mounts and other list based configs that support dict values jupyterhub/zero-to-jupyterhub-k8s#3690
