Sampling Functionalities in FastEddy (Point-wise and Plane-wise)

Dear FastEddy Development Team,

I am currently working with FastEddy and would like to clarify whether sampling functionalities are already implemented in the model. Specifically, I am interested in:

1. Point-wise sampling, similar to the tslist feature in the WRF model, which allows extraction of time series at specified locations.
2. Plane-wise sampling, for extracting data across defined planes (e.g., horizontal or vertical slices).

Could you please confirm if these capabilities exist in the current implementation? If not, are there any plans or recommended approaches for achieving similar functionality?

Hi @Armin-Ha. Thanks for your question. I noticed you also opened an Issue in the FastEddy-model repository, which I’ve converted to a Discussion under the Desired New Capabilities category. We use GitHub Discussions to handle Q&A for FastEddy.

At present, point-wise and plane-wise sampling functionalities are not yet implemented in the model. However, these features are key development goals for our next planned release in April 2026. We appreciate your interest and feedback!
