Adding a shapefile, not available online but an official gov shapefile

I have been passed an official shapefile from mass.gov depicting the mass inshore survey strata.
We use this in our State of the Ecosystem reporting and it would be beneficial to have this in NEFSCspatial.

However it is not online anywhere and we can't point to it as a reference, directly. Only to a description of the survey

Is this something we are willing to add to the package? Maybe in the documentation state something like "Division of Marine Fisheries - New Bedford Office"

@andybeet I think the package should include data that is going to make our jobs easier. If it is going to be helpful for you, I vote include it.

I think the documentation suggestion works - maybe include a POC from DMF if that person is comfortable with it?

ok. After a bit of digging i see that there is a dataset in the package (pointing to an inport entry as documentation) currently called final_mass_inshore_stat which looks like this

whilst the one i was provided looks like this (subregions included):

It does not look like you can get from the higher resolution version to the version in the package. So unsure of the difference
I guess this all stresses the need for good documentation, pointing to a reputable source!
EDIT: Also demonstrates how pointless inport is

Yeah, I agree with @kimberly-bastille. If it's useful to your workflow, I think it could be included.

For documentation, it might be good to have a generic email to Mass DMF (or a specific POC like @kimberly-bastille said) that way if a user has questions they can reach out.
