Interest in Health-AI Ethics Atlas + Relevant Experience

Hi everyone,

I’m Oliver Teng, a CS grad student at Georgia Tech, and I’m very interested in contributing to the Health-AI Ethics Atlas project. The idea of developing an interactive global map that visualizes AI ethics in healthcare aligns closely with my experience in data visualization (D3.js) and web development.

I previously built a project called Property Price Visualizer (GitHub Repo), which shares many similarities with this initiative:

• Interactive Map-Based Visualization: I used D3.js to display real estate trends on a map, similar to how this project aims to showcase AI ethics initiatives worldwide.
• Data Filtering and Analysis: Implemented dynamic filters to allow users to explore real estate trends over time and across different locations, akin to filtering AI ethics principles and policies.
• Handling Large Datasets: Managed and processed extensive datasets (over 2M data points) to provide users with meaningful insights, demonstrating my ability to work with geospatial and structured data.

You can find more details in the repo, and I’m currently improving the project to enhance usability further.

I’d love to apply my skills in web development, GIS mapping, and data visualization to this project. Looking forward to collaborating with the team and learning more about AI ethics in healthcare!

I’m Lalit, CS grad student , and I’m very interested in contributing to the Health-AI Ethics Atlas project with a strong passion for data visualization and interactive UI design. I specialize in JavaScript, React, D3.js, and Leaflet, and I love working on projects that make complex data more accessible through intuitive user interfaces.

I am particularly interested in contributing to the Health-AI Ethics Atlas project, as I find the idea of mapping global AI ethics initiatives in healthcare both fascinating and impactful. I have experience working with dynamic dashboards, GIS-based visualizations, and handling structured datasets, and I’m eager to explore how these skills can be applied to this project.

I have gone through the project ideas list and would love to learn more about the data sources, expected structure for the visualizations, and any existing frameworks used in the project. If there are any starter issues or resources, I would greatly appreciate any pointers!

I’m Laura Vollmer (PharmD/MBA), a healthcare professional with a strong interest in exploring the use of AI in medical practice. I am also a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s web development bootcamp and a self-taught full-stack software developer. My skills include JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and I have experience working with various JavaScript libraries for different projects. Additionally, I recently completed the Harvard CS50 Intro to Python Programming course demonstrating my commitment to continuous learning and skill development.

I’m Anish Sharma, a third-year engineering student at DJ Sanghvi College of Engineering, majoring in Information Technology. Totally makes sense! In the case of writing the proposal for the project and applying - are most of you going to write it based on your perspective and what you have read about the project? When I read Google Summer of Code FAQs they highly encouraged meeting with the mentor, etc to build a solid proposal. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
