Purpose of this repository

What purpose does this repository serve?  As far as the bmi itself is concerned, it looks to have *at least* everything from https://github.com/csdms/bmi-cxx, and is actually behind the head there slightly.  I don't think it serves any real purpose to maintain this repo, and a fork the upstream csdms repository would be more effective if there were some real need.
