Recently Arch did something or rather and now i am using nouveau and i am getting ~25 percent performance of what i used to get going from 1600 fps to 400 fps and i would like to know how to make the gap smaller between the proprietary and open source driver.

For clarification, nouveau and the open kernel modules in this repository are different. I recommend switching to some form of official NVIDIA production drivers for performance.

Can you show the output of:
pacman -Qs nvidia

@SoupcanUBG all you need to do is install the following packages on Arch Linux.

nvidia-open and nvidia-utils, these should prevent you from using nouveau or nova on reboot.

For 32-bit games, you will want to enable multilib and install lib32-nvidia-utils as well.
