ASTER stereo no longer works

I am working with ASTER L1A stereo data (VNIR 3N/3B), but the data is now distributed only as HDF/HDF-EOS files.
No GeoTIFF images or external geometry text files are provided anymore.

While image bands can be extracted from HDF using GDAL, the original sensor geometry needed for stereo processing (e.g., by aster2asp) cannot be recovered.

How should ASTER stereo data be processed today when only HDF files are available?
