Implement Import/Export Users UI

The UI needs to parse the uploaded CSV file to display the preview data. To convert the CSV to JSON, we can use a library such as Papa Parse.

Feature Overview

CSV file upload with preview parsing using Papa Parse library for user import/export functionality between OpenLDAP and Samba AD.

Test Environment

• ns8-core: 3.16.0-dev.2
• ns8-samba: latest (or testing module)
• ns8-openldap: latest (or testing module)

install one node with several account provider, use different domain name, long and short

• internal samba AD
• internal openldap
• external ldap

Test Data

CSV test files available in PR #995:

• fantasy_accounts.csv - Small dataset
• startrek_9999_users.csv - 9,999 users (accepted limit)
• startrek11000_users.csv - 11,000 users (exceeds limit)

limitations

• no csv over 10 000 row
• we state to get 8 columns
• if you have a deliminator for example a comma in a password you must enquote the string "mypassword,1234"
• if a csv is not conform the UI prevents to import it
• a csv exported from AD or openldap can be imported once you have edited it to add a password field

1. CSV Upload & Preview

• TC1. 1: Upload valid CSV (fantasy_accounts.csv)

  • Verify CSV data is parsed and preview displays first 5 rows only
  • Verify Papa Parse library correctly converts CSV to JSON

• TC1.2: Upload 9,999 users CSV (startrek_9999_users.csv)

  • Verify file is accepted
  • Verify preview shows first 5 rows
  • Proceed with import

• TC1.3: Upload 11,000 users CSV (startrek11000_users.csv)

  • Verify file is rejected with error message
  • Confirm UI prevents import of datasets exceeding 9,999 users

2. Malformed CSV Handling

• TC2.1: Upload malformed CSV file
  • Verify UI displays appropriate error message
  • Verify import is blocked

3. Samba AD → OpenLDAP Export/Import

• TC3.1: Export users from Samba AD
  • Generate CSV export from Samba AD users
  • Open CSV in LibreOffice Calc
  • Add password column for users
  • Import CSV into OpenLDAP
  • Verify users are created in OpenLDAP with correct attributes

4. OpenLDAP → Samba AD Export/Import

• TC4. 1: Export users from OpenLDAP
  • Generate CSV export from OpenLDAP users
  • Open CSV in LibreOffice Calc
  • Add password column for users
  • Import CSV into Samba AD
  • Verify users are created in Samba AD with correct attributes

5. UI changes

• in the nodes card kebab menu you have two buttons import/export only for internal LDAP
• in the node card the menu has changed it is see details
• the LDAP configuration is a third tab like user and group
• test by reducing the size of the navigator window, it must be responsive
