[DOC] list of supported formats

When looking for a list of implemented formats I would expect a list of names (maybe with a link to the class implementing it, and/or a link to its standard if any)

instead it points to a part of the API:

We are planning a rewrite of the documentation, and will certainly take this feedback into account.

We have a list now. I think this can be closed and if something fancier is desired a new issue can be opened.
