Date range control for events, sent emails

The “Date Range Control” does work for the “Events” WA object.

Am I missing something in my “Sent Emails” connection setup? Why is this not working?

I did notice that when connected to “Events” there is a “Date Range Dimension” available in the Data tab. This field is missing when connected to the “Sent Email” data. See screenshots below.
