Transfomers and historic exogenous variables

Hi

I see all transfomer based forecasts seems to work only with insample y and not historic exogenous variables. I guess there is a good reason for this? Would be happy to understand why.

Also, is there a possibility to effeciently integrate historic exogenous variables into transfomer based forecasts?
