Software Detects Controller as "Wired" When Using Dongle

2.4 ghz dongle

For some reason the software cannot detect my controller as anything other than wired when using the dongle. I checked and this controller does use xinput, so I have no idea what is causing this issue.

never heard of that controller before, so I had to look up their website. I guess you mean the "2.4GHz dongle" that comes with the controller, right? I don't see any details about what that dongle does/provides, but since the advertise the controller as being compatible with different platforms my guess would be that that dongle can "disguise" the controller as different "types" towards the connected system, similar to what dongles from 8BitDo etc do. And those dongles always report the controller as a wired model...
If that's the case, there is nothing I can do about it since the API does not provide battery information for wired controllers.

Just in case, can you cross-check with other programs (like Steam big picture) if they can read a battery level from the controller?
