Nested resolution in NorESM3 (or 2)? #713
-
|
Hi all. We're interested in using NorESM3 (when it comes out) for some nested / variable resolution simulations, if possible. I've been told it inherits the capability from CAM6, but does anyone know if there are reasons why it shouldn't work? Has anyone tried, or gotten started on a setup? We'd most likely want to try a domain centered on Europe, Fennoscandia or the Arctic, which I expect many others here are interested in too? Cheers, |

Hi Bjørn, A few of us at UiB are working with Steve G on this, with the help of NCAR (the codes are still in development, so they are formally involved). We're at the point where we're able to set up grids and are about to start testing on version alpha03 - currently a refined North Atlantic domain that includes large parts of Scandinavia. Adam Herrington has already published an Arctic domain, so I believe this is open: https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2022MS003192 Just get in touch if you would like to be kept updated (camille@uib.no). cheers, |
