A per-block cut/copy operation will most likely have to be done in two steps, unless some incredible idea comes into existence

Given the two selection areas, green as the source, pink as the destination to copy blocks in green to pink these are the steps:

• slice the green selection based on how the pink selection intersects the cube boundaries
• save those sliced and possibly incomplete cubes in a temporary region file format, maintaining those slices
• in secondary converter step: merge slices within the same cube together, then merge those combined slices with any remaining blocks in the cube
