OpenCV has a sample called cpp and its build, by default, installs binaries built for samples under /usr/bin/<sample-name>.

If you don't need the OpenCV samples, you could either be more selective about the OpenCV packages you install (excluding opencv-apps), or add a bbappend for the recipe to turn off building samples altogether.

If you do want the OpenCV sample apps, you could add a bbappend to change the setting of the CMake variable OPENCV_SAMPLES_BIN_INSTALL_PATH , which, if I'm reading the code correctly, is the one the OpenCV build uses as the parent path for the sample app binaries.
