Custom App Group

My app was built with a different App Group than the default used. How do I customize this information?

My App Group looks like this: group.com.xxx.onesignal2.

Error when trying to build with EAS:

There is a problem with the request entity - An Application Group with Identifier 'group.com.xxx.onesignal' is not available. Please enter a different string.

Remove the value 'group.com.xxx.onesignal' from the array 'com.apple.security.application-groups' in the iOS project entitlements.
If you know that the ID is registered to one of your apps, try again with a different Apple account.

You could try modifying this plugin.

The withAppGroupPermissions method looks for the default pattern.

That or change the app group your app is using.

Does someone solve this problem? I’m facing the same error. I was trying to customize the group but expo one signal always sets the default value which is not available anymore.

The way to fix is to expose the setting via plugin props:

First add it to the props interface.

Then use the setting here and here with a fallback to the default.

I'm no longer at OneSignal and can try to get to it if you're stuck but if you need a quick fix that's the way to do it.

I pinned the specific commit, as the branch might get deleted later.

And then add the plugin config to app.json:

Hello, thank you it worked for few days, but he did a new commit and that breaks. If I install the last commit it seems that it needs to be build. I don't know what to do, have you figured it out ?

Any one able to resolve this? tried everything here but plugin keeps trying to fetch 'group.com.XXXX.onesignal instead of customised group.

remove it first from any older apple developer accounts using this group, log in to apple developer pick groups on top right, and remove group from this account.
