| 8 | +--- |
| 9 | + |
| 10 | +Lighter End introduces **nine** new End biomes. These biomes will generate |
| 11 | +whether using Lighter End alone (in which case vanilla terrain generation |
| 12 | +will be used) or with other End [noise](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Noise_settings)-providing |
| 13 | +mods / datapacks such as [Nullscape](https://modrinth.com/datapack/nullscape) and |
| 14 | +[Stellarity](https://modrinth.com/datapack/stellarity). |
| 15 | + |
| 16 | +You can also disable Lighter End biomes in the config, accessed either through |
| 17 | +[ModMenu](https://modrinth.com/mod/modmenu) or by editing `config/lighterend.yaml` |
| 18 | +in your Minecraft folder and setting the line: |
| 19 | +```yaml |
| 20 | +generate_biomes: false |
| 21 | +``` |
| 22 | +
|
| 23 | +### Glowing Grasslands |
| 24 | +
|
| 25 | +The Glowing Grasslands are the most common Lighter End biome and are composed |
| 26 | +of gentle plains with sparse vegegation. [Glossy Mooshrooms](mobs/glossy_mooshroom) |
| 27 | +and [Dragonflies](mobs/dragonfly) can be found here, and this biome is otherwise |
| 28 | +peaceful. |
| 29 | +
|
| 30 | +### Blossoming Forest |
| 31 | +
|
| 32 | +The Blossoming Forests are dense woodlands crowded with [Tenanea Trees](blocks/tenanea_log). |
| 33 | +[Silk Moth](mobs/silk_moth) [Nests](blocks/silk_moth_nests) can be found among the leaves, |
| 34 | +and [Chorus Crabs](mobs/chorus_crab) are dense on the ground. |
| 35 | +
|
| 36 | +No hostile mobs spawn in this biome. |
| 37 | +
|
| 38 | +### Umbrella Jungle |
| 39 | +
|
| 40 | +Umbrella Jungles are where the massive [Umbrella Trees](blocks/umbrella_log) grow, under |
| 41 | +whose canopies spawn massive [End Slimes](mobs/end_slime). |
| 42 | +
|
| 43 | +### Shadow Forest |
| 44 | +
|
| 45 | +The darkest of the forests, Shadow Forests are home to dangerous flora and fauna. Beneath |
| 46 | +the black leaves of the [Dragon Trees](blocks/dragon_tree_log) lurk |
| 47 | +[Phantoms](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Phantom) and [Endermen](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Enderman), |
| 48 | +and watch your step, lest you get pricked by [Needlegrass](blocks/needlegrass) or blinded by |
| 49 | +[Murkweed](blocks/murkweed). |
| 50 | +
|
| 51 | +### Foggy Mushroomlands |
| 52 | +
|
| 53 | +The Foggy Mushroomlands are home to Lighter End's most iconic feature, the |
| 54 | +Mossy Glowshrooms, which light up the skyline with their glowing |
| 55 | +[Hymenophores](blocks/mossy_glowshroom_hymenophore). Less staggering—but no less |
| 56 | +luminous—are the [Foggy Agave](blocks/blue_vine) blooms. |
| 57 | +
|
| 58 | +[End Slimes](mobs/end_slime), [Dragonflies](mobs/dragonfly) |
| 59 | +and [Glossy Mooshrooms](mobs/glossy_mooshroom) can spawn here. |
| 60 | +
|
| 61 | +### Umbra Valley |
| 62 | +
|
| 63 | +Umbra Valleys are perhaps the most hazardous biome in the mod, with nowhere to hide from the |
| 64 | +[Phantoms](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Phantom), [Endermen](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Enderman) |
| 65 | +and occasional [Endermites](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Endermite) that spawn there. That said, |
| 66 | +this biome might be worth the trip to chip off bits of the massive |
| 67 | +[Aurora Crystal](items/aurora_crystal_shard) formations that can be found there or to mine |
| 68 | +the [Umbralith](blocks/umbralith) and [Violecite](blocks/violecite) underfoot. |
| 69 | +
|
| 70 | +### Sulfur Springs |
| 71 | +
|
| 72 | +Sulfur Springs are geologically active formations where the [sulfur-rich](blocks/sulphuric_rock) |
| 73 | +mixes with pools of water to form massive geysers and [Hydrothermal Vents](blocks/hydrothermal_vent). |
| 74 | +Fly over one of these formations to experience the updraft from the plumes or farm the unique |
| 75 | +variants of [End Fish](mobs/end_fish) and [Cubozoas](mobs/cubozoa) that have adapted to these |
| 76 | +conditions, but be on the lookout for groups of [Endermen](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Enderman) |
| 77 | +and the occasional [Endermite](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Endermite). |
| 78 | +
|
| 79 | +### Megalake |
| 80 | +
|
| 81 | +Perhaps the rarest biome in the game, Megalakes are the only place to find |
| 82 | +[End Lotuses](blocks/end_lotus_stem), alongside [End Lilies](items/end_lily_leaf) |
| 83 | +and [Charnia](blocks/charnia_red). |
| 84 | +
|
| 85 | +[End Fish](mobs/end_fish) and [Cubozoas](mobs/cubozoa) can be found swimming in the water |
| 86 | +and [Chorus Crabs](mobs/chorus_crab) by the shore. |
| 87 | +
|
| 88 | +### Starfield |
| 89 | +
|
| 90 | +While the stone that comprises The End Islands is absent of useful metals, the void between |
| 91 | +them is rich with Ice Stars. Each star contains an outer layer of [ice](blocks/emerald_ice) |
| 92 | +mixed with copper, gold or iron, and a core of pure ore. If you can reach one of the larger |
| 93 | +stars, you'll have enough metal for life. |
