No Downloadable APK / Google Play Store release doesn't match GitHub activity

For those of us who prefer not to use the Google Play Store (on various Android OS versions), it would be helpful if you could provide a downloadable APK file, similar to what BlueBubbles offers.

I also noticed that while there was a recent app update on the Google Play Store (from yesterday), the last GitHub activity related to Android was several months ago. If the GitHub repository doesn't align with the releases you're providing, it raises questions about the openness and transparency of the project.

I attempted to compile the APK using Flutter from the GitHub source (while manually fetching the dependencies), but the process failed for several reasons. Specifically, some files reference the flutter_isolate.git repository, which is no longer available. I replaced it with a forked version, but the build still failed due to missing dependencies, despite running flutter pub get. Perhaps I’m overlooking something—compiling isn't something I do frequently. It would be really helpful if you could provide instructions for manually building the Android version, or consider sharing the APK files directly.

I have tried to compile the app on numerous occasions however I have never been able to get a working build, I gave up once I finished resolving the flutter dependency loops and then had build errors with cargo aswell. The github CI is also broken, and even if you do manage to get it working there are closed source components that are not publicly available. The dev himself was asked about opensourcing the remaining components and responded by saying that openbubbles is not open source but instead "open as in openai". I disapprove of the devs stance but at the end of the day it is his project, not much we can do in this regard.

I have resorted to applying a personal patchset to the .smali files inside the base apk, and not updating as frequently.

From time to time I have some need to push to the private repo. The public ones should be up to date now, and should stay that way for the foreseeable future.

Additionally, I have been doing work with submodules, and it should be easier to compile now, just recursive clone submodules, create a empty .env file, and build. I'll be doing more testing shortly hopefully.

As for the closed source components, we are now shipping stubs. For absinthe, you can use an iOS relay, and for anisette, you can use an anisette v3 server, it's a flag in the code.

@TaeHagen There are a few hardcoded paths throughout the app and dependencies that no longer exist (but probably do in your cache), see the examples below. I recommend compiling the app from scratch in a vm or a different machine with a new environment (preferably with a new username aswell) and if you are able to compile it first try, perhaps it is just a skill issue on my end :p
