In my old gentoo system, /etc/init.d/smtpd from opensmtpd is in default runlevel and started during boot and shows up in rc-status.
In my new gentoo system, /etc/runlevels/default/smtpd is ignored during boot and doesn't show up in rc-status. It still shows up in rc-update show. After I manually start smtpd, smtpd still doesn't show up in rc-status.
Both systems use openrc-0.62.10. The old system enables sysv-utils USE flag in openrc. The new one doesn't.
There are a few other OpenRC services with this problem.
- emptty
- smartd from smartmontools
Does OpenRC have a service blacklist that I don't know about?
