This page still a work in progress and at this point in time just a list of general guidelines that should be followed when creating replacement graphics for OpenRCT2.
- The provided peep model should be used to keep all the sprites consistent with each other (At this point in time not yet available).
- The lighting rig should never be changed unless there's a proper artistic reason behind doing so as long as the result still matches with the result of the default provided lighting rig.
- 1 tile in OpenRCT2 is 4 by 4 Blender units in size. 1 OpenRCT2 height unit is ~1.6328 in Blender Units.
- For any material, a balance should be found between making the textures visible in the render and preventing too much noise from being visible.
- Any texture should have Interpolation enabled with either the FELINE or Area filter.
- The Area filter for Interpolation works best with a value of around 0.30.
- Shadows need to be disabled when rendering vehicles.
- Anti-aliasing should be disabled for any ride vehicle.
- Objects can be rendered with either shadow on or off depending on what works best.
