Add user-visible version identifier

There ought to be a way to see on the GUI and in the chat window an identifier that completely identifies the code being run.

So, more than just a version number, because there are multiple files. It would have to be a hash of everything, like a git hash, or else a table of marketing version numbers with their associated git hashes.
