CI discussion issue

Mostly wondering what method of running them is preferred. GH actions is probably easiest, but ive also used circleCI before (possibly a more open platform/less likely to vendor lock development into using GitHub)

Things to run:

• unit tests (and any future integration tests)
• linter/formatter

i added a CI job based on the Github actions dart template to the main branch, which revealed #4 as being an issue.
