macos: connection invalid when running the emulator on darwin #1

Originally filed at raralabs#24 but moved here due to being closed by a bot and the repo seemingly being abandoned:
Spun off from raralabs#21 (look there for context),
Seems like the current version of the emulator encounters the following error on darwin.
➜ pm5-emulator ./pm5-emulator 2023/08/02 14:43:05 error: connection invalid
seems to be the resulting output (is it actually all on one line? that may be useful to know)
My theories:
- some kind of configuration/permissions issue preventing the program from taking over the bluetooth hardware
- apple special-ness about the BT hardware (which seems to be a thing the hackintosh community has to deal with)
how do other bluetooth/GATT "servers" /emulators on macos work? do these even exist?
