Prune database do not seem to work

Hi,

In about 3 month I got 400MB of data on my phone, which is starting to fill it.

Few questions :

• is it a relevant value ? 400MB of data seems quite a lot.
• When I use prune DB, I get the message saying it's going to remove all data older than 7 days, but it doesn't do anything in fact. I keep having my data from november displayed.

Any hints ?

Thanks for reporting this, because I thought that the pruning worked - which version of the App are you running?

I'm runing 4.2.1p, but I think the official version was doing the same.

Prune DB is clearing the online DB or just the local one ?

I'm not sure what is happening on your system, because I have checked our production one (which has been running for a long time), and yesterday evening the data sharing screen is showing 71810 stored data points, and this evening it is showing 71301 data points (ie I have fewer datapoints at 18:55 today than I had at 20:05 yesterday) - this is (fairly) consistent with the prune running hourly - we would expect to generate 3600/5 = 720 data points per hour, so the number of stored data points should only vary by that amount.

Now there is a setting in the Data Logging settings page to enable the Auto prune function (with default data retention period of 7 days) - do you have that enabled?

I wonder if it has not been enabled automatically that the database might have got so big that the process takes too long to run and is being killed by the Android system, and OSD is not warning you about that.

But to answer your question the Prune DB function is working on the local DB, not the online one - I have a separate prune routine that runs to delete data that has not been validated as either a real seizure or a false alarm.

Hi,

It's enabled, and must have been since the beginning. But I still have data from november the 18th...

I can either clean totally the app data(from android) or keep it like that for test purpose. As you prefer.

Please will you watch what the "Number of Datapoints Stored on Phone" does for a while to see if it is just increasing at 720 points per hour, or if it is doing anything else?
