AAF creation and BMX media linking #64

Hello.
I am curretly working on an automation project to convert videos into Avid compliant opatom files created by bmxtranswrap. (These are Avid compliant as I can scan and import them into Avid via the .mdb file)

I have been trying to get the AAF creation part working so that it can create a timeline that fully links to my created MXF Opatom files inside of my Avid MediaFiles folder.

Reading guides has helped a lot but I am still stuck.

I've tried two methods with different points of failures.

First method:
Giving OTIO the reference location to look at the created opatom file. This results in the adapter giving a "cannot find mob id" error. I've tested the path and it should be pointing to the correct DNxHD 36 Opatom file path. I assume this would be the _v1 as this is the main video file and the rest is audio files containing the same id.

Second method:
I've been extracting all the MXFPackageID, Duration, Edit rate etc. using MXF Dump. This does result in a valid MOB ID but when I inject all these things including the start timecode it creates a valid AAF but on import into Avid I get a "Cannot get master mob duration from the Format Descriptor" and "Cannot get the source clip length from the Format Descriptor".
After this the timeline is correctly constructed but media is offline and I cannot see any tapename, codec is viewed as 1:1.
I do however have a correct duration and start timecode on the clip.

Anyone smarter than me who can tell me how I can do this correctly.
