Any plans to bring server functionality?

Meaning, we're open to receive patches implementing that functionality.

I have heard there might be interest in working on it, but I presume it is still low on developers priority list (consider it will require quite some effort)

The protocol support is present, but not the session management code. So there's no code to handle the connecting clients and keep track of them. The reason is simply that none has had time to look into that for the community project. OpenVPN Inc has a very specialized implementation for their Cloud Connexa service. But that implementation is not suitable at all for community usage.

So someone just need to have a strong enough scratch to really want to dig into this and write the missing code which will suite community use cases better. Unfortunately, the resources at OpenVPN Inc are already tied up in other more pressing issues so this feature is not something they can start digging into any time soon. If there are questions related to how to approach this, I'm sure there will be people available to help pointing developers in the right direction.

Appreciate your responses here. I just have 1 small server for now and am not much of a programmer myself.
Incidentally, was looking at the community page and looks like the major difference between 2.x & 3.x is the security benefits, however when running on a server with 1 admin user and nobody:nobody user/group assigned in the server.conf it seems very safe to me.
