Hi there,

Here it is, the very first alpha release for Boosted v5! The v5 documentation is continuously deployed on Netlify: https://v5-dev--boosted.netlify.app/

Please note that this is a pre-release, likely to see more breaking changes in the next months and not currently aligned with Boosted v4.

As usual, we're mirroring Bootstrap's release: you may want to read Bootstrap's announcement on their blog. The best parts are:

1. IE11 is not supported anymore,
2. jQuery is not required anymore,
3. a brand new scss utility API makes Bootstrap even more extensible and configurable.

There're no Boosted custom components in v5 (yet!), but a few noticeable differences with Bootstrap:

1. using Helvetica, and obviously, branded components and core variables based on Orange Web UI Kit,
2. improving focus visibility thanks to :focus-visible polyfill,
3. defining a mininum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 instead of 3:1.

But there's a lot more to come! If you want to have a look at Boosted v5 roadmap, be my guest: and if you want to help, feel free to open a PR against v5-dev! You can also find us on our Orange internal communication tool, and are welcome to open an issue or request a feature on GitHub.

As I mentioned previously, an important part of our development now directly happens in Bootstrap (currently working on RTL). A few components and behaviors that were specific to Boosted have been merged in Bootstrap to reduce the gap and contribute back to this important open-source project. And we may expect a few more :)
