Starts screensaver while wathcing videis

When watching a long youtube video the pc does not go in to sleep mode, but Aerial starts playing videos. Its annoying to deal with.

I suggest a solution where it doesnt, and or an option in the settings to run on or off.

@OrangeJedi Is there any way to bump this up the priority list. It is a dealbreaker, and I love this screensaver.

It seems that the saver can appear over video because windows will still launch the .scr on idle even if media is playing. It would be awesome if, and the request is to stop the saver only when there is active video playback. audio-only apps (e.g., spotify, plexamp) should not block the saver.

Possible approaches

1. Check for active media sessions

Use the Windows Global System Media Transport Controls (GSMTC) API to query current sessions. If any session reports PlaybackStatus = Playing, exit the screensaver immediately instead of showing the video.

Rapproach 1: match a playing media session to the foreground app

use GSMTC to detect playback, but only exit if the foreground app is the one playing. this catches browser or player video while ignoring background audio.

get the foreground window’s AppUserModelID (AUMID)

enumerate GSMTC sessions and check PlaybackStatus === Playing

compare the session’s SourceAppUserModelId to the foreground AUMID

only exit if they match

approach 2: ignore known audio-only apps even when foreground

Some users keep spotify, itunes or plexamp in the foreground while working. add an ignore list so audio-only apps don’t block the saver even when foreground.

approach 3: add a fullscreen check as a strong video signal

as an additional gate, only exit if the foreground window is fullscreen. this avoids pausing on background mini-players or picture-in-picture.

call GetForegroundWindow + GetWindowRect

compare against monitor bounds via electron.screen.getDisplayMatching

only if it effectively fills the display, treat as video and exit
