Custom registration validation

I am looking to do some custom validation on my registration, in my case checking the user's email address against a given list. I've created a class implementing the IRegistrationFormEvents interface so I can use the RegistrationValidationAsync method, but I cannot see how to access the RegisterViewModel from here. How do I access the posted data from my potential new user to validate it?
