Unable to use foobar query syntax in library search bar

As per the title, the library search bar doesn't accept foobar query syntax. I have to click on Foobar > Library > Search to do this.

Is this by design? Would it be difficult to have the search bar work with queries like that?

In theory it should work since the searchbar uses SpiderMonkey Panels 'GetQueryItems' function for searching, which accepts queries, however the search query is always set to lowercase which stops the query from working. When removing this, queries work, but will cause the searchbar to crash if the query is incomplete / not entered fast enough.

This can be handled with a simple try catch however. I've just pushed an update to fix this, dc80704, download the latest code (or just WSHtitle_bar.js) and replace the prev and it should now work.

Thanks for the quick response. Do I have to do anything other than replacing WSHtitle_bar.js? I've done that and it doesn't seem to have changed anything

Well you'll have to restart foobar after replacing it if you didn't, other than that you shouldn't have to. Is there a specific query you are trying that isn't working? If I try for example %rating% IS 5 I get only songs rated 5 stars. In theory the only reason it shouldn't work is if the query is malformed & would otherwise cause an error to occur, in which case it defaults to searching w/ lowercase to avoid the crash.

Ah wait, which searchbar are you using? There are a few in the skin, the one I updated was specifically the one present at the very top in the title bar. If you had meant the one thats present below at the top of the library in the same row as the time & item count, that one works differently & doesn't handle those queries. Fixing the other one was quick & simple but applying that to this would be a bit more involved as I'd need to rewrite how the searching works, more than I can get into at the moment unfortunately. I still plan to rework this search bar eventually as its been planned for a bit.

Yes sorry I meant the one at the top of the library. Having the ability to use queries in the title bar search is still helpful in the meantime though
