Feature Requests: HTTP API for changing the `namespace` and `reponame`

It would be highly beneficial to have HTTP API endpoints that allow changing the namespace and the reponame for existing repositories via a RESTful interface.

While an HTTP API for transferring repositories between namespaces is already available and very useful. However, having dedicated APIs specifically for changing the namespace and repository name would be a more efficient and streamlined solution for these dedicated operations.

Hi @jcelliott, Is there a temporary alternative endpoint I can use until these endpoints become available?

We don't have an endpoint for changing the repository name right now. But you can move the repository to a different namespace by making a PATCH request to /api/repos/:namespace/:repo_name with a body like this:

We probably won't get to adding the endpoint for changing a repo name soon, but that's definitely something we would accept a PR for if you want to take a stab at it.
