Description
In Ico (SCES-50760 PAL), the “60 FPS & No Interlacing” patch included with PCSX2 is incorrect and does not match the original implementation by the patch author, Red-tv (link to his post).
When enabled, the patch causes in-game cutscenes to run at 60 FPS, which completely breaks their timing and animations. Additionally, the no-interlacing hack does not appear to function correctly, resulting in visible interlacing artifacts and flickering during cutscenes.
Expected behavior
- Gameplay runs at 60 FPS
- In-game cutscenes revert to 30 FPS, preserving correct animation timing
- Proper deinterlacing, with no flickering or interlacing artifacts
Actual behavior
- Cutscenes run at 60 FPS
- Cutscene animations play at incorrect speed (double-speed behavior)
- Audio desync
- No-interlacing hack is not applied, causing Interlacing and flickering
Steps to reproduce
- Enable "60 FPS & No Interlacing" patch in Ico SCES-50760
- Watch the intro or start a new game and watch the first cutscenes.
