No chat beep and no chat log entry for messages

RubberDuck has told me that every time he sends a text message, he cannot hear the chat beep, and his messages do not appear in his chat log. (Me, I did hear the beep and also found his messages in my chat log.) For a while, the issue seemingly fixed itself, but then returned.

We did check the option for muting the chat beep, but it was supposedly enabled. Also, we could not find any option that explains why the game should omit your messages in your own chat log.

I'm not sure how to handle or recreate this without the given steps. Did it happen again, or was it a one-time thing?

So far, it has not happened again.
