Japanese model inquiry

I'm using japan_PP-OCRv3_rec_infer, but the results are not very good, as it only recognizes English and not Japanese.
Are there any plans for another Japanese model or update?

Hello, PP-OCRv5, released on May 20th, includes support for Japanese text recognition. We invite you to give it a try.

I tried that version and the OCR recognition results were exactly the same.

According to https://paddlepaddle.github.io/PaddleOCR/main/en/version3.x/module_usage/text_recognition.html, the Japanese model included in PP-OCRv5 seems to be japan_PP-OCRv3_mobile_rec

Yes, you need to update the PaddlePaddle version to 3.0 and then update the PaddleOCR version to 3.0. After that, you can use PP-OCRv5. If there are any bad cases, please feel free to provide feedback to us.
