We recommend using tested LTS versions, 25 should be fine, but you would need to test within your own setup |

It should be fine, you're unlikely to come across any bugs. If you do either it's a regression in Java 22-25, or it's an intentional change that Paper should probably be aware about because Mojang will probably update to Java 25 anyway within the next year or so. |

From my testing java 25 has half process CPU usage (maybe a change to how its measured, idk seems crazy) MSPT seems same between java 21 and 25, but enabling compact object headers seems to give a tiny performance boost, maybe 2-5% although there are so many variables to account for. The new AOT profiling is very good, reduces server boot time from ~25 seconds to ~18 seconds, that is when recording a full server start up, I will test how much a generic paper AOT reduces it (no plugins), if its significant maybe in the build pipeline you could generate AOT file for paper? |
