Custom part status

Hello Everyone,
This is the next feature that we want to implement and is referring to discussion #1041 and pull request #1051.

This, again, is the electronic development standpoint for more clarification.

Let's start.

A part has several properties that comes with the part itself.
For example the manufacturer status.

But if you need a property that is reflecting a status given by the company this is not sufficient.

What could that be?

• A part that is not doing its job properly but is or was already used. For example, we had a Sub-D Socket, where the screwing nuts fell off after a few uses.
• RoHS, REACH or other requirements are not (or no longer) fullfilled.
• The part was not tested yet.

To cope with that, we want to introduce a "Customer part state".
This you can define by your own.
In our case that is:

• Approved
• Disapproved
• Under Consideration

In a further step, this could also made available for KiCad (and Altium).
In the BOM you can show the value and make sure you have only approved parts in it.
For development it would be possible to exclude unapproved parts in the EDA.
