The pair distribution function is a function used in the literature, to quantify structures in the crowd as well as avoidance behaviors.
See for instance "Universal Power Law Governing Pedestrian Interactions" and
"Dimensionless Numbers Reveal Distinct Regimes in the Structure and Dynamics of Pedestrian Crowds".
I would suggest to implement this function in PedPy as well.
