s3fs 2026.2.0 causes tests to fail

Describe the issue

When upgrading s3fs to 2026.2.0 it causes the tests to fail with this error:

FAILED tests/test_compare_production.py::test_local_vs_production[45.0--75.0] - OSError: [Errno 5] An error occurred (401) when calling the HeadObject operation: Unauthorized

I had asked copilot to see if it could solve the issue but it made it worse with more 401 errors popping up #549 for reference of what it tried.

Should also mention that you'll need to update gcfs to 2026.2.0 otherwise there will be dependency conflicts.
