Channel mods #21

Description

@hPerks

It would be useful if certain channels had special mods in charge of them, who had more permissions besides just managing messages and headers. Muddy, for example, wants to be able to make announcements about special Minecraft events and ping everyone about it, and I think the bot could do a good job of limiting these permissions to certain channels, and thus let people have the chance to try out modding for themselves in channels they're interested in.

In this particular use case, you could ask the bot to ping everyone who has the @in minecraft role, and the bot would then quickly turn mentions on for that role, ping it, and then turn them off again.

More channel specific permissions would also be useful for noby in #spam-allowed, although I understand if that doesn't add anything to my case ;)

So what I'm thinking is: mods (i.e. us) can add/remove users as channel mods, and maybe even specify which elevated permissions they can have. Ideas:

  • pinging everyone in a channel
  • letting people into a channel; would be used for the tourney channels, as well as perhaps #invite-only and #adults-only
