Bug: Chart visualization doesn't respect `?order=breakdown_value` URL parameter on reload, while table does

When an Insights report URL includes ?order=breakdown_value, reloading the page breaks the sorting for the chart visualization. The table below the chart displays the correct sorted order, but the chart itself reverts to its original (unsorted) order.

How to reproduce

1. Create an Insights report with a breakdown
2. Sort the results by breakdown value (URL should include ?order=breakdown_value)
3. Reload the page
4. Observe that the chart visualization shows the original order, while the detailed results table shows the correct sorted order

Hi @HaynesPostHog, I might be misunderstanding something, so I wanted to clarify my observations and share some additional context.

In the issue, it’s mentioned that the sorting works correctly before a page reload and breaks only after reloading. However, in my testing, I’m not seeing the chart sort correctly even before reloading the page. When I click on a breakdown column to sort by breakdown value, the table below updates as expected, but the chart itself doesn’t appear to reflect the sorted order at any point (before or after a reload).

I’ve attached a short video showing the current behavior on my end. If possible, could you also share the Loom video referenced in the ticket? That would help me better understand the expected behavior and ensure I’m reproducing this in the same way.

Additionally I am attaching a video showing the behavior with my local changes, where I’ve updated the chart visualization to sort results in the same order as the breakdown table.

While my local changes do align the chart order with the breakdown order, I’m not fully sure this is the intended fix, as I don’t see similar handling for cases with multiple series.
