Getting started with pdns with 3-4 nodes?

I'm overwhelmed by the "look here, look there, read this read that" amount of information, stifling me.
Something that should be simple is portrayed as something very complicated.

I'd like to have 1 master and 2-3 replicas, and a management ui on the master.

But there are so many different "products", that i don't even know where to begin.
