I have a question.

I have had an interesting issue pop up while working in CoLab. Every time that I try to use the triple " to add notes to my code, it ended up printing.

ie. """Why does this keep printing?"""

My understanding is that anything inclosed in """ """ should not display in the output.

Am I missing something?

You are right, code or text included inside """ should not be executed, check this example:

The issue only happens when my """note""" follows the print function.

for example:

The following line represents that monthly salary of a person.

salary=5000

"""We will devide the salary by 2 to distribute it among the family
members and print the result to the screen"""
print(salary/2)

"""if I put triple quotes below the print function it prints my comments."""
Output:
2500
'if I put triple quotes below the print function it prints my comments.'

Where as if I use the # tag to create a comment in the same area it doesn't 'print' to the screen.

I guess the question is, is this a bug or a feature; and how do I get around it?

@Clayton-1701-D I verified your code and you are right, in that case it shows the second message (the comment) as part of the output.

It is a Colab bug.

Check the same code but running in my local machine:
