Conversion to journal style #2722

Description

@davidfarmer

I encountered 2 problems when converting to "bull-amer-math-soc" .
I don't think these are specific to that style.

  1. If I try to build the PDF, the automatic fetching of bull-l.cls fails.
    Work around: build the latex and then compile by hand.

Building the latex does not try to fetch the style file, but maybe it should?

Note: wget fails to fetch that file, even though it exists. If I go to the URL
in a browser, I see the file. Then I can save it. Apparently the website is
checking the user agent. The file:
https://www.ams.org/arc/journals/packages/bull/bull_amslatex/bull-l.cls

  1. Many styles allow a short title. If you do not indicate one in your source,
    PTX uses the full title. What went wrong for me is that I had a 2-line title,
    which gets line break in the LaTeX source. The problem was that it also
    gave a line break in the short title. This is what I got (note that I also had
    a subtitle, which looked okay to me):
\title[Currently there are no reasons to doubt\\
the Riemann Hypothesis]{Currently there are no reasons to doubt\\
the Riemann Hypothesis\\
{\small The zeta function beyond the realm of computation}}

The double backslash in the short title [in the square brackets] should not be there.

A possible solution is to not put a short title when the author does not specify one.

My source is in a private repository, but I can give access if that helps.
