Soilsens working but some questions…

I was able to configure the Soilsens but I do have some minor issues:

1. HA autodiscover not working:
   I configured WiFi mode but I noticed when filling in the Node name on the WebUI, the gateway was filled in instead. In WiFi mode, nodename was the only name field available but in the overview page after submitting, gateway was filled. Therefore, in MQTT explorer, the topic is as follows:

Homeassistant/sensor//moisture (notice the double // as the nodename was not populated). Could this be the reason why autodiscover is failing?

2. I see you sometimes post new firmwares. How do we update those?

3. When reentering config mode, does it also remove the calibration values?

Hi,

1. Auto-discover will work if the sensor has a name, you need to reconfigure the sensor.

• The Sensor name field is always on top.

2. It's a test firmware, for now, don't use it.
3. if you enter config mode it will remove only wifi, mqtt, and node name, but if you enter calibration mod it will remove only calibration.

Additional question here:

I'm loosing about 1-2% battery an hour on WiFi.

Signal strength is -49dBm.
Sensor is placed outside.
Standard hourly polling.

Any idea?

It can happen on a freshly charged battery even if you don't connect the battery to anything. But then it will settle when the battery is 85-95%. Maybe you have remarked how many seconds the LED stays on? max is "<2sec"

There is no node name on wifi mode on Chrome on MacOS.

Edit: on Safari it is there, and when populated indeed the auto discovery works.

Hmm, that's weird. The configuration page is just plain HTML, and it should work even on Windows 95! :)
