[DDOTD] add some calculator watch snippets and adjust design doc. (CleverRaven#84158)
* add some calculator watch snippets
This is mostly an excuse for a douglas adams easter egg, but I need enough other lines that it doesn't come up constantly.

- Healthcare and health insurance costs are not a concern for most people.
32
32
- SUVs and hatchbacks are less common. Compact cars are less common due to the location. Pickup trucks are much more common.
33
33
- Many location names should be changed to Canadian equivalents, or sometimes removed to be later replaced with Canadian versions as appropriate. For example, the cdda "state park" map is a tiny fenced-off area with no resemblance to a Canadian provincial park.
34
+
-- related to this, specifically named locations with a particularly canadian feel, such as "Tim Hortons" and "Canadian Tire" are very much encouraged, either in pure form or in satirically modified recognizable form.
34
35
- Where possible we should try to audit use of terrible American spelling and use Canadian instead. Luckily, Canada formally accepts both spellings so we don't have to be complete about that, but using the proper spelling of things will color the setting nicely.

- Plant frequencies should be adjusted to suit hardiness zone 4a. By comparison, Massachusetts is a 7a hardiness zone, almost tropical. You can't grow peanuts in Red Deer. As well, certain plants are just rarer in Canada: even though Kentucky coffee could technically grow in Alberta, I don't believe you'd likely ever find a tree of it. As the area is less developed, fruit trees growing wild in forests are a lot less common as well. At some point some plants should be refluffed with minimal changes - for example, the cottonwood tree should be changed to the Balsam Poplar, a close relative found throughout Alberta. We should add wild roses and wild strawberries, and make them very common. Cherries should be changed to sour cherries, the Evans cherry is a similar Alberta-friendly variant. We'll need crabapples too. And spruce trees. It's going to be a whole thing.

##### Guns
39
+
Guns are a particular sticking point as DDA is very gun-heavy. While guns are still very common in Canada, particularly in Alberta, the types of guns and the culture around them is dramatically different. Disclaimer: I (erk, writing this) am not likely to make these changes myself; on that note, what follows are modifiable with discussion by whomever might take it on.
40
+
- most likely guns in DDotD should become a curated list, with only select guns available and all others migrated/blacklisted, similar to generic guns, but the guns available should be period- and location-appropriate.
41
+
- unlike DDA, we are less concerned with perfect statistical simulation, because we don't have to deal with the problem of people adding millions of new guns to the game. Rather, we should have a select list of appropriate guns that cover a lot of use cases, with play balance as important a consideration as verisimilitude. This list may well be dozens and dozens of guns, but once complete it is not likely to need to change much, as long as we ensure new dda guns don't need to be manually migrated each time.
42
+
- low caliber rifles, shotguns, and hunting rifles - bolt and pump action - are likely the bulk of available weapons. Military and police weapons (rarer as above) should be guided by both what was used at the time, and what we can include without trivializing our combat challenges. A lot of this can be done by making their ammo extremely rare; this is likely to be the case anyway, but drops from zombies might need to be unrealistically low.
43
+
- Special rare weapons that are time period appropriate but unlikely in the setting can be allowed, but these should be set pieces. For example, something like a semiautomatic carbine could be available in a particular quest once the first winter comes. We should take care not to make these unusable due to lack of ammo, nor to make ammo too common.
44
+
- Cobbled-together guns and ranged weapons may be much more of a thing as we develop this balance out. I will not complain if someone kills a zombie with a potato gun.

The "default start" should put you in a cabin in the woods with one other survivor that already knows you and can tell you a bit about the setting. The rest of the start options should fit one of the two following categories:
