insula segmentation

I'm trying to determine if a stroke lesion involves insula. I have a mri dataset including DWI and FLAIR and able to segment stroke from DWI. But I do not have images with insula label. I'll have to manually segment insula on FLAIR due to better resolution, then register it back to DWI. Is there a better to do it? Thanks.
