Embedded git-lfs.exe vs official git-lfs.exe

Hello,
I tried to replace the embedded git-lfs.exe (from the plugin) with the official git-lfs.exe 3.3.0
And I have an error :
LogSourceControl: Error: Error: unknown shorthand flag: 'C' in -C

And I can't check out because I have an error "Git command failed[...]"

I guess it cannot work with the official version. However can I compile the embedded git-lfs.exe myself for security concerns ?
