Standalone JS Version?

Would it be possible to expose the plugin as a single js standalone file, too?

That way a user could just use the Mirador viewer via the mirador.min.js and an additional downloadPlugin.js in the header - instead of having to build his own framework (npm, react, etc.).

Just an idea - I understand using npm webpack/parcel is nicer and a better way in the long run (if someone wants to build his own frontend), but all this hassle for just a simple download button ...

We discussed the necessary steps in a Mirador community call some weeks / months ago and came to the conclusion that this will probably not be possible within our current Mirador 4 update efforts. However, we're thinking about providing prebundled versions of Mirador 4 that would include plugins like this, which would facilitate the usage of those plugins without having to engage with npm.

Actual standalone versions would require some fundamental changes in the way Mirador plugins work. We will probably have to postpone those changes to a later point in time.
