Changes to molecular data structure (#113)

* Add memoized loading for any non-scalar variables in the HDF5 files

* Added gzip compression for non-scalars in HDF5

* Increase test coverage of molecular data and make some small aesthetic changes

* Fixed property initialization problem and added test for it

* Make sure data files are up to date
