This is not impossible, but due to it's internal code requires quite a few changes on IE's side.
I've opened a pull request allow the mod to load at all if any other dye colors are present.
If this gets merged it is possible to add the missing compat (data/assets) here

Yes, I would do something similar for 1.20 too, but first I'd need to get feedback from the author about the first PR
